Small Stream/Rivers Nets suggestion ps

Life of the Party
In the market for a new net for use on small streams/rivers for trout. Have a larger one I use for Clearwater raft.
Typical size fish is 6” to maximum 14”, I suppose a 16” would fit?
Cost under $75, preferably less, rubberized. At that point in life need to keep this in mind.
I had thought rectangular until I looked at some in Sportsman Warehouse, think oval/tear drop easier/quicker to catch them?
I also never gave thought to depth of net until looking tonight.
Thoughts, suggestions?

"Measure Net" comes in all sizes, is light, inexpensive, and floats. I often don't bring a net, though. Lots of LDRs on barbless hooks

I do like the clear net vs black.
How deep is yours?
8". Bottom about 8 1/2" dia. Opening about 11x14". Works well for the small trout I catch, but I've put much bigger fish in without having to completely wear them out.

Frabill used to make some nice small wood nets with deep rubber bags like 14” so decent size fish wouldn’t trampoline out of it. Not sure if they still make them but you might be able to find a used one cheap. I use a different net now but here is a picture of what mine looks like. These were $25.00 back then.
As far as bag color goes, I like black because I think fish show up better with a darker background if I take a picture of them in the net.

It looks like they do on the website, but maybe larger than your picture.

I measured my net. It’s 23” long and the hoop is 10” x 15”. The bag is 12” deep.
I was thinking it was deeper, but that was my net that has been floating around in Puget Sound somewhere for the past eight years or so. 😂
I’m not sure where you are located, but if you get to north Seattle and are interested, I’ll sell you the one I posted the picture of for $20. I just don’t want to ship it.

Thanks, but it would cost me just over $100 in gas to make it to your house 😂

No worries! 😂
If anyone else sees my offer, they can buy the net I have.
Good luck in your search.

I've used a Frabill Trout Net for the last couple of years and have been happy with it. It has a deeper net basket than some other nets. The handle has a bit of a curve which I find helps scooping fish with arthritic wrists! The curved handle also works well with belt style net holsters. I bought the larger 13" x 18" size to give me a couple of inches more reach but the 11" x 15" would probably have been fine. The fine mesh net bag does snag a few more flies than chunkier clear net bags.

Better be a damn good deal considering the price listed is $320.
Dragontail Tenkara has a nice burl net for $59.99 I thought about

I like the handy pak nets. I bring them on backpacking trips and fly with them for other outings
