Single hand integrated sink tip fly line: 6wt s6 15’ - questions

Airflo Streamer Max Short has a ~15 feet of a sink tip. 7ips tip with a intermediate buffer. I prefer a longer sinking tip, so I go with the streamer max long, but after a lot of experimenting with Rio/Cortland/SA I am a firm believer in the Airflo lineup. Airflo shovelhead for bulls
The streamer max short is pretty close, but I couldn’t find one in 6 weight. Nor a streamer max long. And the shovel head comes in only 280 and 330 grain models. Currently only available in 330. That’s way too heavy. I’ve liked airflo lines I have had in the past but they seem to be low on stock and models in the US right now. They also want $129.99 for all those lines.

yeah, weird. It looks like they only have 5 and 9 on their site. Maybe a 3.0 is imminent but stock outs during time of year seems like leaving a lot of money on the table

Has anyone fished the Streamer Max Short?…I’m considering it in 7wt for a 8’6” 7wt rod for throwing to the bank from a raft…

I love it! I use it for smallies and also for muskies. It also spey casts reasonable well if you're backed up to the bushes. One back cast and fire away. 7wt for your 7wt is perfect.

Old thread but @Matt B did you end up liking that Cortland line? I'm looking for a dedicated freshwater streamer line for my 6wt. Been using my intermediate beach line with a polyleader and can't stand casting with it.

Looks like Flshack still has the no name factory over runs, and they show a type 6 sink tip in 6 wt. can’t be sure it’s 15’ though.

I’ve bought a few of their over run lines and they seem like good quality. And you can’t beat the price!

I do. I have not fished it a ton, but I like it as well or better than the 15’ RIO integrated sink tip line it replaced.

I got it…I haven’t fished it much yet, but I like it…in a few days I’ll get to fish it more…

Is the running line on the cortland green? I got a mystery sink tip line with a reel I bought and I fished it the last two days and I really like it. 15’ sink tip, probably a type 6 with a floating running line. Casts beautifully on my 6wt.

Yes, on the 333 and 444 SL the running line green. Is the tip gray or black?

It can definitely take some getting used to, but I love it!

Yes, on the sink tip line I mentioned at the start of this thread the running line is green.
