Maybe Malik from Liberty in the 2nd round?…
That or Breece maybe. But this is where they'll likely start getting cute and reach for projects like they always do.

Well he's got 6" on Wilson. Wilson is 5'10" tall. Drew Lock is 6'4". I think the Wilson will be a flop for Denver. This is my opinion and I'm standing to it.
There's gotta be something to put down on this....

Honestly though, I never hated Lock. He actually looked good in spurts during his rookie season. He also got a super raw deal from management (or mismanagement) with an OC and HC who never believed in him nor did anything to accentuate his strengths. I don't think Pete can do shit with him even if there are redeeming qualities there though.

I'm actually surprised that Pete didn't go D in the 1st round.

Really liking the picks so far
Ehhh, I’m not sold on a second round RB when there are so many other needs. I’d rather have looked to the later rounds for the position. Pretty classic PC move though.

I guess we’ll see.

They had a choice of best runner in the draft at a position of need or waiting. I think it's a good move. CB will be next.

I'm not saying it can't work out. I'm just saying I think it's easier to get a RB in the later rounds than a CB or OL (or obviously a QB, but I was okay with them skipping a QB this year).

Who knows, perhaps the guy will be a beast mode 2011 repeat (when Marshawn played with Tarvaris Jackson / Charlie Whitehurst) and be a pro bowl stud with whatever QB we end up playing.

Carson’s health is in serious question, Penny is a five game wonder. Having a 5’9” 220 lb beastly semi mode is not a bad option. Think this guy can play in the league. Good pick. I actually like the hawks picks so far. Two pillars on opposite side of the Offense line, A good pass rusher, and a RB of high caliber for the future or insurance. A - grade at worst. These are all solid choices so far.

This draft class kind of blows my mind at how solid and how much value each pick was. Obviously you can't know anything until two years down the road or so how it all panned out, but the process and projected value of each one is outstanding. No "we can fix him" project reach picks except maybe Woolen, who is very "Sherman-esque" in his extremely high ceiling, just somewhat new to the position. Even the 7th round pick WR was projected to go in like the 4th round.

They got the pieces they needed and didn't get cute.

What would you expect him to say? He's a player's coach. He's not going to blast his guys in public. Could be that they want to appear content with their roster to improve their position when negotiating trade deals for QB's. For example, maybe they have a "take it or leave it" deal planned for Baker Mayfield?

Personally, I hope GM's around the league make the Browns eat Mayfield's salary, or at least most of it.

Hated Baker Mayfield, then started liking his commercials, he sort of grew on me through those. I thought he showed some toughness last year, playing through injury, but there are obviously still issues with him personally if WR don't want to play with him. Don't know that I would go after him of if he'd be much of an upgrade (and that bar is not very high).

cheers
