NFR RIP Capt Insano Emeritis

Non-fishing related
I grew concerned when he hadn't posted in the "...Listening To" thread for 10 days. He was a music lover with a wide range of music in a massive vinyl collection!

He was a Gifted Artist. The painting he shared with us in this post "draws me into" a spot on two different streams I like to fish. I look at this and in my mind I am there...

I"ll miss Skip  .

He was truly an interesting and entertaining character on this forum, the kind of presence I'll miss without having ever met in person. Those close to him must miss him dearly. Condolences to his friends and family, especially with such a sudden loss.

This is the painting Skip did of me fighting a large trout at a lake we used to fish. In my photography, I'm a sucker for action shots of fishing. Skip knew that and made the water color of an action shot he took.

Dammit, Skip. You weren't supposed to suddenly go around the bend.

Skip was fun to see on the boards here. He had a keen artistic eye and I am going to miss him. If ever there was a guy who wore his heart on his sleeve, Skip sure did. He had a brutal and super open honesty and a key eye for the play of light and dark. And the music, wow, I don't think any of us remotely come close. His choices never seemed stuck in one era or genre.

I like to think his house smelled of like rich compost, linseed oil, Used record vinyl, and some kind of garlic infused dish.

Godspeed Skip!

Trying to think of a good musical tribute... I think he would have got a kick out of this one. Funny, moving, complicated, heart on the sleeve...

Wow! Didn't see this coming as I just got back to civilization after a few days in the wilderness. I've messaged with Skip about gardening and other things and recently encouraged him to join us at the Mayfield swap & shop. That was just before he died. I was going to check in with him about tomatoes again after catching up on the forum here, . . . and now this news. Sure sucks the warmth out of this day. RIP Skip!
