This is a magical time of morning as the darkness turns to light. The red dawn is a sure a beautiful sight, but also a sure sign something with the weather is not quite right.

The lake is beginning to be covered in cottonwood duff. Man that can be miserable stuff.

This black little bugger is a wonderful fly, I think as the weather turns I'll get busy and tie.

I lost 2 crappies, so still have not netted anything with a pokey spine, but with a bunch beautiful rainbows to be had, I'm just fine.

Red sky at night, a sailor's delight and the dawn part about "take warning" can be true, nice report!

The fluff was flying around here this afternoon too. First I’ve seen it really going so far this year.

The weather held long enough for an after work session and for me to try the flies I posted in the vice at lunch. @FinLuver , the blue flash strip down the side was a good call as it got a bunch.

The red marabou tail drew some nice fish

and the copy of the original was a hit too

Actually warm enough to forego the waders, and just myself and another flyfisher from M-F on the water. The tip is near the water when I'm fishing.

Osprey dealing with a squirming trout just above the tree line.

And the breeze kept the cottonwood duff pinned to a shore.
