Last night at 5:30 PM I went to a friend's house about 5 miles away during what would normally be near the end of rush hour. Starting at my place (380' elev) it was 37°, there was a almost an inch of snow on the lawn, and the street in our cul-de-sac had slush. In about 2 miles after making a turn off the highway there was 2" - 3" on the side of a major arterial with compact snow and ice on the road at 463' elev. I had to descend into consecutive valleys then ascend a couple of the steepest hills in the area. At the top of the first hill began a 1.5 mile backup to the top of the second hill. People had stopped in the road, in both directions uphill and downhill in the valleys, and walked away from their cars. In my 4Runner with Wildpeak AT4Ws I joined those with AWD, & 4WD

and other brave souls with 2WD and good all season and winter tires who were driving over the centerline around them while the opposite lane was ascending or descending on the shoulders to keep traffic moving on the hills.
Fun time!
Did any white stuff land on your lawn?
Looks like it'll be around and occurring for a few days
