Gonna pour one out for the fence this eve. Got a feeling its gonna be unsalvageable when the yard glacier finally melts.
It is thin up there. Bluewood has about 3' on top, 2' bottom. That's 48% of normal from a map I saw. January is usually dryer before Feb and March storms. Hope they come as I'm worried, this area feeds my favorite streams. Last year was low and warm and this looks worse.I also have a lot of questions and concerns about our snow pack and river flows this summer.
Yes, at night the temps have been dipping into the 20s here for a couple of days at 400' in the South Sound.Looks like no rain until maybe next Wednesday. Usually when it is clear, it gets pretty cold but it doesn’t look will even hit freezing in the Seattle area.

I have had the hoses stowed and the bib covers on long before it got cold. But had I missed something...
the hummingbird feeders.
Fortunately the high temps have been making it into the 40s and higher with the lowest high temp at 39° so I think they have been thawing.
But this morning I noticed a solitary female Anna's hummer perched on the deck railing across from one of the feeders and this is the look I perceived.
The feeders were frozen solid so I brought them in to clean and service with fresh sugar:water (1:4). Then I retrieved my DIY warmers and electrical cords from the garage. It took me about 1 hour to get the feeders serviced and everything rigged.
Now I have to keep an eye on the daytime temp and overnight forecast and remember to turn them off & on.

Don't forget our feathered friends like I did. They become dependant on us.
It was -2 locally @3am this morning in union county with 11 inches on the ground. Supposed to be 13-18 inches by the time it warms up and the rain hits Monday. Trapped here for a few more days before I can fly back to WA. Literally no safe way out of the valley right now except snowmobiles and atv's.12 inches o'snow so far here in the Poconos, still coming down good too. Think we may get to 18" before the night is out.
Wishing you guys some of the same (a lot of the same, at least in the mountains.
