Rain

If you click on the Weather Icon and scroll down to snow water content you will see North @ 77% which is awesome at this time of the year. However, Central @ 18% and South @ 16%, not so much. Also recall that several years of severe drought forced a lot of groundwater extractions. These extractions did a toll on the aquifers which take up to hundreds of years to replenish.

Parts of Southern WA, parts of Oregon, and parts of California were blessed with microcosms of some excellent snow pack while the rest of us will have to endure Wildfires that are already underway. Just today, folks near Spokane had to evacuate in an early Fire Season event.

For the rest of May through July, Western Washington will lean toward warmer-than-normal temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. Eastern Washington will be much warmer. Below average precipitation is also expected across the state. A drought emergency was declared for all of Washington in April.

The NOAA seasonal temperature outlook issued on April 18th was not very accurate.

Spent the morning fishing in a warmish late spring rainfall event. Felt really good! Suns out now.

Light steady rain last night and all this morning. Cool and refreshing outside with puddles.
I love the rain, but it makes it tough to do the stuff around the house and pack. Loading the moving truck Monday, sure hope for a nice, cool, non-rain day.

You are right; it's much hotter and drier than they anticipated! One predictor calls for 113 by next weekend with no end in sight!

Which site?
113 in the Puget sound area? Or east of Cascades?

I am letting most of my yard die in favor of watering the garden more often. And yes, my laziness plays a factor in less mowing but I really hate to be outside past 8:00 a.m. when it already in the 80s.

It's been dry enough for long enough that I'm watering the parts of the yard that normally wouldn't need watering. The next water bill is gonna' be a doozy!

where i live they base our sewer bill on our water useage. I am thankfull that they base our bill on our winter use not our summer when my wife feels that everything needs more water than it actually needs or else i couldnt afford to flush or take a shower here.
