Rain

I’m a little disappointed I missed most of the show as I was on a rare date with mah lady, which was great, but I think we get even fewer summer thunderstorms than I get date nights! Boy did I ever appreciate that storm though. My geraniums, not so much.

Quite a light show, indeed! I actually thought about getting nervous when counting the seconds between the thunder clap and lightning strike and couldn't get to one. The rain came down in buckets for a bit, so I hope there are no new fires and it helped control those that are already burning.

It got wild in Tacoma last night. The lightning was impressive, but the wind/rain combo was the show stopper for me. We had a South facing kitchen window open and about 30 minutes into the storm I went to get a beer and the ENTIRE kitchen was wet with rain being blown through the 2x3' kitchen window screen. I'm talking counters, floor, fridge face 8 feet from the window. Fun, unexpected cleanup.

This morning I spent an hour with the chainsaw helping neighbors with downed tree branches...the half rotted European ash trees prevalent in our neighborhood had a tough go last night.

I was at an outdoor reggae show last night and fortunately I was in a covered area. About half the crowd wasn’t and the show was cancelled. Getting out of White River venue sucked but did get to see lots of lightning, getting to the car with my wife was crazy. We made it home safe but the amount of water on the highway was sporty driving.

About 4+" in the last 2 hours herein the Poconos, pond was full right up, but our little waterfall into the outflow creek worked great. All in all, things looked pretty good, but more on the way in the next hour or so.

We were in downtown Seattle last night. Walking around in the warm evening with the pouring rain and lightning in the city was pretty cool.

Currently dumping buckets in Kitsap..... I need to clean my gutters 😅

@Canuck from Kansas, I'm over in Union county right now. We got slammed west of Lewisburg today. They also had to stop the LLWS game in Williamsport between Puyallup and Newton PA because of it.

Sadly, Puyallup lost after the restart 12-2
