I’m seeing SE wind with gusts to 45 predicted where I had planned to fish tomorrow.

It's one thing to get wet, another to be line lashed in 45 mph winds.
It was pleasant today, but a lot of brown water in the bay, and debris as well.
But at 51⁰ and sunny, it was probably too warm for you.
Sunglasses day, had to take a layer off it was so nice.

Wind was rippin’ thru the valley at about 11pm last night along with the constant rain… .95” last 24 hours/ .85” expected in the next 24. Numerous power outages reported throughout Oregon.

After weeks of teasing, winter finally arrived today. It was a white Christmas but just barely as it snowed much of the day without stacking up. Today is a no-doubter, thick heavy wet snow is building up rapidly and the trees are already starting to sag under the weight. It should be an interesting day, I have had a new battery powered snow blower on my porch since early November and haven't had enough snow to use it yet.

I'm hoping the electricity stays on but if not I have 2 fully charged Jackery power units ready for duty and firewood on the porch if needed to stay warm. The 15 day forecast suggests that 12 of the next 15 days will be snow days here on the tundra. Normalcy returns.
 
Years ago, there used to be a site, USGS I believe that gave rain totals via monitoring stations. It would give you the total accumulations over a one, three, 12 and 24 hour period if I recall correctly. I used to use it to estimate flows on some rivers that didn't have gauge monitoring site.
I had it bookmarked, but somehow lost it when I got a new computer. Anyone know if that site is still up and running or have a link to it?

The winter steelhead will be in the trees shortly;
And I hope someone stops by with the ark soon.
 
My geraniums and fuschia are blooming. My dwarf flowering peach tree is budding out. It’s warm. A bit soggy at the moment, but relatively warm in the Puget lowlands. Maybe not for long.
 
There were people out on the lake fishing between the squalls the last couple of days. One couple were in a paddle boat and watched them catch two fish.

So I did some digging around last night while watching that exciting Seahawks game. My old brain finally remembered the name of one of the stations I used to check for rainfall.
They used to have all the stations on one page, but now they seem to be broken up by area zones. These are the monitoring stations within area 513.

Here is where it gives you rainfall totals in different hourly intervals.

Now I just need to figure out how to search the other zones within their site. 😂
