More or lessI just started fishing burke and quincy last year in april and dusty several times before in may. Is this ice at this time normal with lenice and some of the seep lake being ice free?
That's an improvement for Burke, I was there on Monday and only the area around the south boat launch was ice free out about 60'. Bait casters were thick. Another week should help immensely.I took a look on my way through earlier today and here is what I found:
Stan Coffin Lake - ice free
Quincy Lake - 100% iced over
Burke Lake - West end is ice free, about 50% still iced over to the East.
Dusty Lake - ice free
Wind direction may make a difference pushing the remaining ice raft around? That's an improvement for Burke, I was there on Monday and only the area around the south boat launch was ice free out about 60'. Bait casters were thick. Another week should help immensely.
Or win the big prize!Quincy lakes are all ice free. Fishing derby tomorrow and Sunday. Great reason to stay away.
There's always that. But the number of folks there on Wednesday without a prize makes the weekend seem scary.Or win the big prize!![]()
For some of us! Guess that’s why I’m here—I’m not out there with a rod! There are getting to be lots of people out everywhere. I even ran into another forum member yesterday. Tough day with the breeze, but there were actually lots of fly rods out. It's just that time of year.
