Pyramid Lake

Two weeks I made a trip to Pyramid Lake. The setting is beautiful and so are the fat fish! The fish come in sizes, you know, like T-shirts. A Small is 3-5 pounds. A Medium is 5-10 pounds. A Large is 10-15 pounds and an X-Large is over 15 pounds. I got fish in all four sizes. Dang, I felt very fortunate! I have done a lot of Chironomid fishing through the decades. It was a surprise to me that almost all of the fish I caught were on a Chironomid under an indicator. I'm feeling very grateful.

Nice fish!
I’ve always enjoyed your carp videos. They are very informative.

Wow! Yeah the CC is cool and kinda like North Shore-ish (the 80s movie) in a way. Did you fish on anchor, trolling motor spot-lock, drifting or other? And did the captain have to back the boat down on that behemoth cutt?

That XXL is holy crap stunning. Info about your rod set-up? 2x tippet?
Having never been, would like to tow my skiff there in April for 4 or 5 days, lodging recommendations from those who know?

What depth were you fishing? Asking for a friend...

There is only one option at the lake itself. Otherwise its staying down toward Reno which is about 45 minutes away depending on where you are fishing. I have stayed in the rental campers numerous times and they are fine. But the food in the lodge is ...ah....ok would be a bit of a stretch.

@Matt B, most of the time he used the spot-lock because of the wind but there were some times where the wind stopped so we didn't need the spot-lock.

thnx....being on that boat sure looks a hella lot more fun than casting from the shallows atop an aluminum ladder, which I would be guaranteed to fall off of if a beast grabbed hold.
