Puget Sound

Put in a short session before work and went 2-6. It was slow super early, then a bunch of wild fish came through driving a lot of action for 20-30 minutes with nearly everything caught, including one from me, going back in the water. Then it went dead again and about 10 minutes before I needed to leave, it ramped back up. Fun way to spend a couple hours before the daily grind.

Had to play keep away with a pesky seal to land this guy. The old “seals on my fish” dance up the beach...

2/2 this morning, one smaller wild and a fat rezzie brought to hand. I felt the weight of about 3-4 solid fish before they let go (might of done better with the standard clouser today and not the stinger), and had a few more very solid bites. Tons of herring around, schools of them were moving up and down the beach for almost the entire 3-4 hours I was fishing.

I think we were neighbors today - if you’re the guy my first fish swam toward before it spit the hook. Glad you got one to the beach! The seals made it interesting.

I was in that area of the beach for sure. Thankfully the seal left before I landed my two fish, that thing is not afraid of people at all 🤣

0 for 1 for me today. I whiffed my shot at the rod tip.
Speaking of whiffed, I had the pleasure of fishing downwind from High Karate or Aramis man today. The swimmer has nothing on this guy when it comes to fragrances. He either used the whole bottle or bathed in it.

Try fishing down wind from an honest to god quilbilly...it could gag a maggot...for real...I got stories.
🤣

The river is closed this year, so the shitshow will be at the mouth in the bay instead.
They could fund a decade of Skagit monitoring writing tickets down there, in just a week or two.
😅

I finally got out this morning with @jasmillo and managed a couple of typical sized rezzies. Feels great to get back on track after being out of town for a while, especially since I’ll be out of town again next couple of weekends.

Had a nice fish hit at rod tip early morning and broke my fly off, 15lb leader is not as strong as we think when there are no cushion at hand.

2nd slow weekend in row with just a few hovering around the “legal/sublegal” 16” threshold of the ol’VTR. Good to see others having some success.

Thanks to you and others who have been filling out VTR’s after your trips.
