The most exciting thing to happen for me this pm was seeing these guys, couple of otters on the wreck, a third one slipped into the drink before I could get the shot, thought they were seals

Only fished for about three hours this morning and missed both opportunities.

Bycatch when you let your fly sink to the bottom while checking the time on your phone.
Free humpy tackle. I wonder what the biomass of pink rotators and buzzbombs is on the bottom of Puget Sound after a humpy year?
Cool penpoint gunnel. I got out of the water to move spots and found it in my basket. I have no clue when or how it did so. Safely released to continue doing its thing.

OLYMPIA – The last day of Puget Sound summer recreational crab season is Sept. 1 for most areas, which means it’s time to submit summer Puget Sound Dungeness crab catch record cards (CRC) to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).

one super sea-liced SRC and 5 resident coho, saw a few larger coho (MA9) some light taps when what looked like nervous water moved past but nothing earned the reel
Fished yesterday on @jasmillo boat with @mtskibum16 trolling flies with divers, we caught several solid fish all unclipped except for one.
Short local session this morning with @FerrousTortoise it was slow, landed a small pink (gave away to a guy next to me).

The fish continued to tease us from the beach, slightly too far to reach. Especially that school of ~10 porpoising fish as we were leaving.
Hit the sound with a gear buddy today looking to add some coho to our freezers. Pretty hot fishing. Many landed, many lost. Wrapped coho fishing early AM and spent the rest of the morning harassing pinks.
Now if only these silver bastards would show more consistent off our beaches….
