Puget Sound

Man Brian. I guess when you fish 52 weeks a year with the same line it’s bound to break. I haven’t broke a line yet,… I need to fish more.
Careful: I hiked my float tube a mile and a half into a lake, kicked away from shore and began stretching my almost brand new R-- WF5F. About 25-feet from the fishing end of the fly line, the line snapped as I pulled on it to get the kinks out. "Almost brand new" - and no I am not a Herculean man exerting far too much tension on that almost brand new R-- WF5F. A miles and a half hike, one fly rod, no back up - a brief moment of Tourettes then, a square knot splice in the line and I was back in business risking ripping a guide off the rod.

Whenever I have stretched fly line I unreel the whole thing and take a hair drier to it stretching out 3 foot segments at a time. This works for me.

Sometimes Boot and I have similar ideas. I snapped this in October on a quick early morning walk. I was trying to compose something that left out all the transit and industrial clutter crapping up the scene, above the waterline.
