I’m all for it as long as they don’t touch my strippers and blow!Imagine how much coin a state could raise with a 'Hookers and Blow' tax...
That’s just it, the house always wins and taxes on casinos are largely taxes on visitors.Did not a lot of relief come from gambling and prostitution in instead? A friend who I had taught with for years moved to NV where whe told us that teachers don't know the word "no" in NV!
Okay if alcohol tax collections and gas consumption decreased even more than it has tax collection would markedly diminish.given Washington state leads in tax rates in both categories nation wide. Gas prices are only a small part of these complaints. Gas distribution and distance from refineries have a larger impact on price at the pump plus the gas taxes. I want my state to be soluble . Everyone I know has over time realized excessive driving with today prices will hurt anyone if adjustments to habits are not at least considered. Seems necessary to me. I walk a lot and it might stretch out my time a bit on this still blue marble. That is , if I do not get run over by Teslas running that damn stop sign on 21st and D street.Nevada commercial casinos are subject to a state tax of 6.75 percent on all gross gaming revenue exceeding $134,000 per month, with lower rates applying to revenue below that threshold.
State gets some revenue to be sure
So very true.I’d trade the cost of my 99 Ford Explorer tabs all day versus the affect that the McCleary decision had on my property taxes…..
Carry on.
SF
It went ‘tits up’ for Oregon but I guess they didn’t tax the blow and no idea re boobie taxesImagine how much coin a state could raise with a 'Hookers and Blow' tax...

Mining too. NV is, overall, a much better tax state then OR/WADid not a lot of relief come from gambling and prostitution in instead? A friend who I had taught with for years moved to NV where whe told us that teachers don't know the word "no" in NV!
Hey don't mess with my hobbies!Imagine how much coin a state could raise with a 'Hookers and Blow' tax...
For what it's worth, how's fighting it tooth and nail going? I see cartels that run nations, false drugs killing people and hundreds of billions of taxpayers dollars spent fighting against things people very clearly want to have. Maybe the alternative isn't worse? It went ‘tits up’ for Oregon but I guess they didn’t tax the blow and no idea re boobie taxes. Just let folks do what they want with any drugs. What could go wrong….

Seems like the legal or illegal paradigm is what holds us back from doing a better job with drug policy. That and peoples need to prove their moral superiority by being judgemental. For what it's worth, how's fighting it tooth and nail going? speaking of affordability - we should strive to be objective and factual with these delicate topics....
don't overthink it charles. rob is always making the same point, regardless of the subject matter. As a citizen you should push for whatever it is that you think can improve how money is spent.
I honestly wanted to understand what Rob was trying to say. I'm still a bit unsure.
serious question: "net taxable profits" - or ebitda? if i'm not mistaken, taxes is the T in ebitda, and you don't get to true net income until the taxes are paid. i'm not an accountant, please correct me if i'm mistaken.Corporations (not individuals running the corporation) pay income tax not on income but on net, taxable profits. It's irrelevant the amount of income if expenses (capital and operational), investments, depreciation, tax credits, etc. exceed the amount of income--ie. no profit, no taxes.
Moral Superiority, Judgemental... it is?Seems like the legal or illegal paradigm is what holds us back from doing a better job with drug policy. That and peoples need to prove their moral superiority by being judgemental.
Thats how I see it anyhow.

anyone who knows anything knows that at this age, jesus was broke and homeless and would never have been able to afford an outfit like that with red cloth and frilly sleeves. c'mon.
also, no one could give their life to a guy with hands that small. please.
at the time that we moved off the coast from Lincoln County, it was estimated that 20% of the school children were homeless living in tents, cars, motels, etc, so the school district had a Friday food bag they would give any student who asked for one to help get them through the weekend. We tried to help with monthly donations to the local Food share program.Moral Superiority, Judgemental... it is?
This is how I feel
