That’s just it, the house always wins and taxes on casinos are largely taxes on visitors.

Okay if alcohol tax collections and gas consumption decreased even more than it has tax collection would markedly diminish.given Washington state leads in tax rates in both categories nation wide. Gas prices are only a small part of these complaints. Gas distribution and distance from refineries have a larger impact on price at the pump plus the gas taxes. I want my state to be soluble . Everyone I know has over time realized excessive driving with today prices will hurt anyone if adjustments to habits are not at least considered. Seems necessary to me. I walk a lot and it might stretch out my time a bit on this still blue marble. That is , if I do not get run over by Teslas running that damn stop sign on 21st and D street.

For what it's worth, how's fighting it tooth and nail going? I see cartels that run nations, false drugs killing people and hundreds of billions of taxpayers dollars spent fighting against things people very clearly want to have. Seems like the legal or illegal paradigm is what holds us back from doing a better job with drug policy. That and peoples need to prove their moral superiority by being judgemental.
Thats how I see it anyhow.

serious question: "net taxable profits" - or ebitda? if i'm not mistaken, taxes is the T in ebitda, and you don't get to true net income until the taxes are paid. i'm not an accountant, please correct me if i'm mistaken.

at the time that we moved off the coast from Lincoln County, it was estimated that 20% of the school children were homeless living in tents, cars, motels, etc, so the school district had a Friday food bag they would give any student who asked for one to help get them through the weekend. We tried to help with monthly donations to the local Food share program.Moral Superiority, Judgemental... it is?
