Playing live music 2024

Maybe a few too many Dru Bru's for your air drummer/bass player. We went to the E'burg Farmers Market yesterday, there were three guys playing - took a pretty good look, no Rod in the band. Enjoy!!

Sorry about the air drum/bass player guy. That had to be and looked pretty awkward. Cool that you and your band are getting out there and playing gigs! Do you guys ever play anywhere in western Washington?

I won’t disagree, @Buzzy . Afterwards we asked the staff if they knew him. They didn’t. At some point he hopped on a bicycle and left.

A little awkward, yes. But overall, harmless

We are doing a private event in Seattle next month. Of course the logistics get more challenging the farther we travel but there are several Kittitas County-based bands that play on the west side. We wouldn’t pass up the right opportunity.

The little clip sounds good, nice work. I think I might know that guy, haha (j/k). Is it better for everyone to stand way back not listening or some rando taking up too much airspace? Tough to say…
BTW, my wife did the graphic design for Dru Bru’s cans. I dig their kolsch a lot, a great summer brew IMHO.

Thanks Matt. Part time Dad-banding beats full time Adulting :geek: I’m hoping we can get an opportunity to play at Dru Bru’s Snoqualmie Summit spot.

I like Dru Bru and super cool that your wife is involved. I had a kolsh as soon as we were finished.
 
Looks like Krontonamo's playing at Graham's in Glacier on July 4th before the fireworks! And we're playing at Grovestock in Custer on July 6th.

Last Friday our first Bellingham gig (skate park benefit) got canceled while we were driving to it. Seems like the "promoter" didn't secure the right permit/get it authorized by the Port Authority and the neighbors got pissed when they found out about a couple punk bands playing next to them.

^^^Back in the day that was a real effective way to get more dates; often resulting in private and corporate parties that paid a lot more than most taverns.

I'm sorry to hear that. But I would also have been bummed if that show had happened and I didn't know about it.

Here's to hoping they reschedule.
 
Private party in Seattle yesterday. The last time I played in a Seattle living room was circa 1998 and the cops showed up in short order. This go around we started at 7pm, the neighbors were invited and there was a taco truck hired by the host! Good evening all around. 32BC4A14-A3F7-49D3-82F2-70229777BE16.jpeg
 
I got a call from the local community theater for their 2025 season opener in October 2024; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The (single) Guitar chair book has parts written for archtop, electric, steel string acoustic, and nylon string guitars, plus (tenor?) banjo. Gotta dust off my tenor

So about six gigs into 2024, we had an off night at a local venue. Lead singer/guitar player spent the week at a bluegrass festival sitting in pickin’ circles and came home with no voice and and a head full of bluegrass music that had crowded out the music we were performing. After the first set we amended the remaining tunes to keep it simple for him. Good thing we don’t take ourselves seriously! The tunes we did play went over well; it’s always the band that knows when we’re struggling.

On a break we were approached by a woman from FL who said nice things about the music and then presented us with coins for recognition of our vibes of “authenticity and kindness”. This is a new one. Apparently she’s part of an organization that is promoting these values. We appreciate engagement from the audience, but when we know we’re off, it’s an open question whether we were receiving a backhanded compliment 🧐

I have not idea if this is legit or not. But I kinda love it.

The world is entirely too unkind and unchill these days.
