Pikeminnow Sport-Reward Fishery Program

In my next of the woods… yes
Fried Albertson’s chicken strips is my preferred go-to bait.

Didn't Albertsons go out of business, they did have the best F/C of any grocery stores!

I hope someone on PNWFF becomes the KVD of Pikeminnows.

Yes and no… there are still a few in Oregon and elsewhere; also, they own Safeways. Technically, they are still a player in the Grocery World.

Just play

Just playing a name game...same store, same high prices.
"Yes, Albertsons purchased Safeway. The merger was officially completed on January 30, 2015. Albertsons, through its parent company Cerberus Capital Management, acquired Safeway for $9.4 billion in a deal that was announced in March 2014"

The top Pikeminnow anglers are some of the best fishermen on the river. They have top of the line electronics and gear. They also put A Lot of time on the water. 15+ hours a day, 7 days a week.

You’re not going to catch buckets of them fly fishing.

But you can catch them on a fly-

On high runoff years they will move into the backwaters off of hwy 14 and I-84. Think places like South Rowland Lake. Places like this are very accessible and doable for fly anglers.

Here are some ideas for fly patterns-

And it just takes one to make your day ($500)-

They are one of the coolest and toughest native fish in the PNW.
