Part 1 Gunnison Gorge, Part 2 Green River

Just drove 9 hours to the lodge at Black Canyon Anglers in Delta CO to float the Gunnison through the Gorge for three days. The pack horses have already brought down the rafts and gear down to the river today…we hike down tomorrow morning.

I have wanted to do that trip for a while. I have fallen deep in love with the Green (Flaming Gorge area) in recent years. Guide I fished with last time I was there also does the Black Canyon. Sounds incredible. Canyons are amazing places to fish. That multi-day deal is a commitment... awesome!

Black Canyon is a magical awe inspiring place. It makes one feel awfully “small” in relation to what surrounds you. The Green isn’t shabby either.

Awesome! Looks like once you get down in that canyon, you're committed to the float back out. A great adventure on top of great fishing!

Big fan of a Cutthroat Pale Ale after fishing (near) the Uintas.

Food's not much to talk about in Dutch John, but man, what a fishing headquarters.

Very nice! The Gunni was always my favorite river to fish when I lived in CO. Until recently, my all time best on a fly came out of Black Canyon.
