over-rated vs. under-rated

Over-rated: Most any flylines from anybody but RIO.

Under-rated: RIO flylines, if the users didn't abuse the line by stripping it off the reel by pulling it towards themselves like maniacs.
Same applies to waders, boots and jackets!! Fish enough and stuff will wear out! We don't expect new tires or brakes for free replacement if we've put enough miles on them...

Over-rated: Washington fishery
Under-rated: Idaho fishery

At my age Matt….it’s both!
For me, it's not always one or the other. Depends on a lot of other things! The point is #1) humor and #2) being rill

Say ya just dropped $700 on a tuna charter, negotiated with the spouse, time off work, etc. The boat catches five fish and you never hook up. "It's just nice to get out" my ass! Are there times a skunking stings less? Sometimes barely perceptible at all? Sure. There's a huge gradient in between.

Winter weather when there’s an opportunity to get out on a lake……it is really nice just to get out! But I still want a tug if I’m there! But now being retired, way less pressure. Beats the shit outta watching tv……

Getting out is not over-rated.

Just remind yourself of the pandemic. Getting out was a mental health day. It was also a physical health day.

But to your point, staying in made your spouse happier. Probably made more babies also...

Under rated: Drinking Blantons in the boat with a cigar fired up!

I don't know anyone who likes me enough to want to spend that kind of time with me, but I take the pups, does that count? :giggle:

cheers
Be serious. Plenty of us enjoyed our days with you and the Lady M and were sorry to see you go.

Along those lines
Underrated: day trips to the met, even though it’s only 30 minutes more than the drive to maupin.
