OFFICIAL 2026 NFL SEASON DISCUSSION

He's also had some issues internally with the team, bringing his entourage or social media crew to the team building when not supposed to per team rules, or live-streaming after a game in the locker room, which he also wasn't supposed to (because of past rants).

Because of his talent, his extended contract will probably include extensive fine print related to his behavior and past giving the Rams and out without losing money
ability vs character, always the razor's edge at the elite level.

The WR position has been the prima donna spot in the NFL for some time...I long for the days of Steve Largent, Jerry Rice, & Tim Brown...
JSN shows all signs of being an awesome person and teammate. So does Cooper Kupp.

Before them, Tyler Lockett seemed to fit that role quite well.

Then to other teams, I don't think you'd find an NFL fan who would say a single bad thing about Larry Fitzgerald (though he hung up the cleats a couple years ago).

x2...I was a huge John Taylor fan, his ability to explode out of a stance the primary reason JR could avoid getting double teamed as Taylor demanded coverage.
After his football days, having been raised in a trucking family, JT bought a trucking firm and spent days behind the wheel with his wife for company.

Spygate and Deflategate pissed off a lot of owners, especially those in Bellichick's division.
That the Patriots don't have more HOF players is a reflection of just how well coached and schemed his players were,
pretty much 'he'll beat you with his and he'll beat you with yours.'
At least Bill's conducting himself with dignity these days...lol

I think they were more pissed off with the 20 years of losing than the 2 gates. The gates just give them an excuse to be petty.

Owners don't vote on HOF...

Hall of Fame's Board of Trustees membership includes:

  • 32 Media Representatives: One from each NFL team city. Cities with two teams (New York and Los Angeles) have two representatives.
  • 17 At-Large Delegates: These are active media members or individuals deeply involved in professional football, including some Hall of Famers like Tony Dungy, Dan Fouts, and Bill Polian.
  • 1 PFWA Representative: A delegate from the Pro Football Writers of America appointed for a two-year term.

My understanding is that it was not solely a "slight", but also the result of screwed up voting rules that put coaches with seniors and contributors, only 3 of which can be chosen. There were several individuals in the final year of eligibility so votes went to them rather than Belichick (Kenny Anderson, Roger Craig and LC Greenwood - Craig and Greenwood should already be in but aren't). Don't get too worried folks, Belichick will get in.

Go Chiefs, 2026

I do remember the championships and consider the 'gates' blips on the radar. Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind with the mention of his name is that he was first class asshole with the press! Full Stop.
No need for that what so ever. It's not hard to be humble and civil and spit out a few cliches like everyone else. And yes, I think the same of Marshawn Lynch.

P.S.
If it wasn't done for spite, it should have been.
I see both scenarios 180 degrees opposite.

I am a bit of a Pats geek. I found BB's press conferances fsr mor interesting and entertaining than any other coaches.

Marshawn spoke to us local media; he just didn't want to be recorded. His reason was that he didn't like talking about his own play because he wanted everyone around him to get the credit for his performance. There are even old videos of him as a kid, only talking about his teammates.

, Roger Craig
So deserved, first back to get 1,000 yards both receiving and running. That high step of his...
And unfortunately fumbled on what would have gave the Niners their three-peat in a row SB if fat ass Bubba Paris, the ongoing donut eating bane of Bill Walsh, hadn't stumbled out of his block and gave the D a freeway to hit Craig.
If any receiver deserves the bank it's JSN...excellence both on and off the field.

I am waiting for the 'dust to settle' regarding coaches and player changes before commenting...

ESPN’s Kevin Siefert reports labor negotiations between the NFL and NFL Referees Association broke off “earlier than scheduled” this week.
The NFLRA opened the session with a counterproposal and the NFL rejected it and unilaterally left the bargaining table despite talks that were supposed to last for two days. Combine this with the NFL Competition Committee sneaking a proposal on that lets New York unilaterally correct officials in the event of a labor stoppage — including throwing flags on to the field from New York — and you can see that the groundwork for a lockout is clearly being established. The league is reportedly hoping to move annual bonus money toward “high-performing officials” and increase the probationary period for new officials from three years to four. The current labor agreement expires in May. There is, of course, still time for both sides to come back to the table. But the current tenor of negotiations is not looking promising.
