Official 2026 MLB Discussion Thread

I am not really a true baseball fan but how about this recent game between "those Amazing Young Royals" defeating (or deflating) the "M.E.T.S." (translated by fans as "My Entire Team Sucks") in a game that featured 28 runs, 32 hits, 16 walks, and also 3 errors by the Royals in one play. That play in the first inning allowed 3 M.E.T.S runs to score, including a "little league home run" from a ball that was hit a distance of less than a foot from home plate.
Yet the Royals triumphed!

The AL West and 90% of the entire AL are mediocre to poor this season.

We were at a Sweets game a couple weeks ago that played out like that all night, ending up 23 to 19. Exciting, edge of your seat action, even though WW lost.

It's true, those amazing young Royals have been sucking it - but last night's game, CRAZY. As Mr Miller points out, a little league game broke out in the first inning, with 3 errors on a single play, leading to a little league style home run ... but then, those amazing young Royals put their big boy pants on to take the game, but most impressive, Tyler Tolbert tied a record with a hit in 12 consecutive appearances, only done twice before, done by Johnny Kling in 1902, followed by Walt Dropo in 1952. He also had back-to-back 5-hit games joining Roberto Clemente (1970) and Hi Myers (1917) in the record book. His bat is on its way to Cooperstown.

Given the sorry state of the American League, the Royals are a short 8.5 games back - anything could happen.

Go Royals!!!

That game was brutal to watch…
It was a nice football score though.
