4-0, the Chiefs are winning on defense. Mahomes is looking almost ordinary, but they keep winning.

Go Three Peat!!!

Niners looking better, Fred Warner, a third round pick, continues to showcase he is among if not the best LB in the game, Bosa showed up strong...Vikings looking like they can hang with anybody... Seattle vs Lions should be a fun one tomorrow night..

Minny at 4-0?
They're my current pick for top team. Darnold redemption arc has been fun. I've always had a soft spot for the Vikings. If they were an AFC team I'd root for them a bit more actively.

I'm finding myself strangely rooting for Darnold. shoot, now, 4 of those 5 1st round QBs are above average (to top end) starters in the league...pretty rare for a single draft, especially when it comes to 1st round QBs. Just need Josh Rosen to come back and be successful....lol

I hope a lot of early round QB failures realize what a year of Shannaplan tutelage can do for you.

Not a great game for the Niners but if they had played this way last week they'd be 3-1. They just need to get healthy late season and go on a run.

The Patriots Offensive line is ............................offensive.

You just simply can't win with an O-line like they have. When you sign a tackle off the waiver wire and start him at LT you will lose at a very close to 100% clip. There is no way that the Pat's play Maye regularly until the line gets a whole lot better. It may not be this year.

The Pat's defense gave up 20 points. If this sort of imbalance continues there will be a mutiny in Foxboro. Jabrill Peppers may kill an offensive player.

On a positive note, Ja' Lyn Polk looks like a player. Not sure he will get a bunch of opportunities since the line can't protect but damn, does he compete.

"Brock Purdy set a career passing benchmark on Sunday, becoming the quarterback with the highest passer rating (112.6) over his first 25 starts since the AFL-NFL merger"
next year the Niners will have to be writing a check for at least 40M a year, likely more the way he is playing

Geno Smith and Sam Darnole are proof that QB's can overcome being drafted by the Jets................eventually.

Just look at Jimmy Garrapolo and Trey Lance.
He definitely got the best out of JimmyG and JG got paid for it eventually. Apparently there is no saving Trey Lance...

Tonight's game should be interesting. We find out of the Hawks are for real or a product of their early schedule.

Lots of D line injuries this week...so going to be tough for the Seahawks on the road.
Maybe Goof will have a Goof game, but I expect the Lions to run it until we stop the run, and if we don't, then keep running it, and not let Goof throw against our secondary.
Walker needs to be productive for us, lots of carries and lots of yards early so Geno can throw downfield.
🤞

I think JG is the best example of how much the Shanahan system helps the QB. He was 6 inches from a SB win.
We will find out about Lance. It is clear that you don't need the physical talent that Lance has to win in the Shanahan system.
The system seems to generally simplify a QB's responsibilities and reads. OTOH, Purdy seemed to be running a little different offense yesterday. It was far more complicated than outside zone runs and play action with bootlegs and crossing patterns. There was not a ton of short throws, screen plays, and plays where athletic lighter linemen pave the way for skill players to run after short passes.
The Pats defense is really good. I was impressed by Purdy and his ability to throw down the field. His athleticism was also impressive.
While I do think that the Shannahan offense makes lesser qb's look better than they are, I think that Purdy could and would excel in most systems. He was impressive yesterday.

Agreed. I was surprised by the deep throws, hadn't seen that from Purdy much before. The Rams and now the Pats have been dropping 8 to clog the short/mid range field Purdy thrives in so much. The fewer rushers gave him time to wait for the downfield shots. Niners have a fast rookie in Cowing that should see the field more if that continues.

Pats D was strong, especially given all the turnovers. They were really strong in the red zone.
