With respect to your opinion, none of us knows exactly what was going on being closed doors outside of what we've been allowed to see.
 
49ers salary cap situation going into 2025 looks very troubling, especially if they overpay B Aiyuk and T Williams,... then B Purdy next year. With the oldest roster of any NFL team the coming player purge will be painful!

It's always hard to keep the band together...their window for the SB is now...

Obviously the cornerstone of any successful franchise is the qb... I'm amazed at how the Packers have been this lucky this long...as far as Purdy is concerned, he stepped in lucky crap...a great roster on offense and defense. Had he been drafted by most other teams, he would still be competing for the backup job...
 
Purdy is a starting grade QB.

The Raiders wish they had him on their roster.
 
While Purdy certainly does benefit from a good roster, he earned that starting job and has done better under Shanahan than anybody since maybe Ryan. The kid's processing speed is elite which is something really hard to evaluate coming out of CFB and probably the most important trait for an NFL QB.

Williams just wants his money guaranteed, not a lot more one than he was going to count for. Aiyuk will get his raise but the way the cap numbers work he won't eat up a ton of cap space for a while. Purdy will get a big contract but again, won't kill them for a few years. Deebo might be a casualty next year, but hopefully one of the rooks(Pearsall looks good if he can stay healthy) can step up there.

They've got a few more years in this window, especially if they keep their picks and draft decently. Year 3 of Purdy's new deal is when it might get ugly...
 
Purdy will be a 60M per year, especially if he (they) do very well this year. Should be a playoff team at minimum, but it’s the NFL and your only an injury or two and one missed FG from not
making the playoffs some years.

You may well be correct. I would love it is Shannahan bet on himself and his ioffense and traded Purdy when his value was uber-high and then got another QB to run that system.
I have no idea if it's the system in SF or if Purdy was just missed by most in the draft. I do note that hte 49ers made it to the superbowl with Jimmy G and won a bunch with him the following year. I would love to see the 49ers do something crazy like that.
 
Now that the Seattle Baseball season is toast, let's move on to a real sport...

Opening day just over 2 weeks away, Donkeys come to town, will Bo Nix throw picks ? Will the new D actually stop a running game ?

Last time the Donkeys were here, it didn't end well for them as I recall.

The only QB with a higher QBR so far is Mac Jones...and right behind Nix is Sam Howell...
 
No he has Payton behind him and Payton will set him up to succeed, and in most cases not fail. IMHO. Might not equal to a lot of wins this year but you’ll see it building. The key in Mr. Bo Nox will need to stay healthy. I believe 2025 is the season Denver is targeting.
 
6 qbs taken 1st round?

One will succumb to injuries. (JJ)
One will fail to adapt to the nfl game (maye?)
One will not be able to deal with adverse conditions. Caleb Williams?
One will be mediocre after running game taken away? Jayden?
One will be solid starter for several years nix?
One will be a stud and all pro caliber. Penix?

Does anyone disagree?

Not in that order but I imagine only 1-2 will be studs in the nfl 3-4 years from now. I mean so many thought Marcus Mariota and others would be no brainer studs in the nfl. Yeah doesn’t work like that. Watch for Spencer Rattler to turn out to be good too.
