6 teams had 10-7 records this season and 3 of them won their division. Seattle is the only one of the 10-7 teams that had a losing record at home. They had 2x more losses at home than wins and 7x more wins on the road than losses. A strange split and despite being 3 games over .500 they only scored a total of 7 points more than their opposition. It shouldn't take much improvement for them to get into the playoffs next season but you just can't get hosed on your own turf.

I think there is an argument to be made that Allen could probably operate to some degree better because he just is a rare talent in that way. But overall, yeah. The O-line is arguably the most important position group on a team. When you're running with a bottom 5 unit, you'll make any QB look bad.

Still, somehow Geno broke a lot of franchise records this year despite his bottom 5 o-line. He was just also forced in to a lot of bad situations and tried forcing too many bad decisions. I don't think he's the best QB in the league, but he's good enough to have the Seahawks be a contender if he had even an average o-line that could open up the run game, play action, and give real pass protection.

What's more puzzling is they keep the GM who thought Jones was worth paying, while Barkley was not.
 
I was rooting for the Lions, but didn't want the Vikings to be embarrassed... got half of what I wanted. Is this the end of the Sam Darnold resurgence, OR is that just Monday morning overreacting?

(BTW, sometimes when I type the letters OR in a post this editor or my Chromebook must think it's the abbreviation for the state of or. But it's pretty damn random as you can see. Maybe it's some hi-fallutin smart ass AGI that thinks it knows what I'm saying when half the time I don't even know, OR perhaps it's just a stuck shift key... occum's razor and all)

Yet you gentlemen forget what kind of banged up offense line Mahomes had , and what 15-1. I think you all got the same blinders on that the voting for the pro bowl had . Would Mahomes of done better than Geno ,seriously , Geno is no where near in the same league as Mahomes .

When the rare talent of Allen had been to the Super Bowl four times ,and won three , we can talk about his rare talent . But for now we can talk about the rare talent of Mahomes ,that there is no question .

Silly question - where would Montana be without Rice, Brady without Gronk, Bradshaw without Swan and Stallworth, etc etc.

Kelce's production is waaay down this year in catches, TDs, YAC, etc - still went 15 and 2. Does that answer the question?

That can be said for most great QB's . Geno's got some pretty good talent with Metcalf ,and Lockett, but his offensive line is lacking ,so was Mahomes this year ,and Kelce hasn't had nearly the year he usually has had ,got off to a very slow start ,and yet the Chiefs are sitting on a bye at 15-2 .

Mahomes had the #4 ranked offensive line in 2024.
 
My beloved Patsies axed mayo after just one year. They sort of had to. He had lost any and all control. It's a tough job to be the guy who comes in after BB, even after a few bad years.

I suspect hey will try to get Vrabel. They need t ohire someone with a ready to go coaching staff. Part of Mayo's problem was that he really did not have enough assistants ready to go.

The other issue is that he whole football operation needs to be updated. BB believed in a rather small operation. He was the final decision maker and he knew what he wanted. The Pat's need to hire people to help in the scouting department and in player developmet etc. Vrabel is a more than capable coach. whomever is hired needs to be a more than capable CEO too.
 
Some credit should be given to KC's defense which let the offense not need to score all that much. They just scored as much as they needed to win. I didn't check, but last I heard, they hadn't scored over 30 all season, which is kind of unheard of.
