Nonstick pans

Yard Sale

Life of the Party
We have converted to almost all cast iron with a couple stainless steel pans, but I'd like to have one nonstick pan on hand. In the past I've bought expensive ones that were crap, cheap ones that were great, and everything in between. That's mostly the reason we move to CI and SS.

So any recommendations on a good mid priced nonstick pan?

Find a restaurant supply store near you, cash and carry or chefstore or whatever and go there and buy the only nonstick pan they offer. They will only have one brand, and it's the one you want.

After purchase:

No high heat
No metal utensils
No soap or dishwasher, just wipe it out with a clean rag while it's hot.

If you don't violate those rules, they all last a very long time.

No nonstick coated pans in my house! But a couple of my cast iron pans are very non stick.

I went from cast iron when I was younger to steel because they were lighter , and now i'm using nonstick cause they're even lighter and more convenient.

I think we use zwilling and le creuset.

I hear ya, and we are mostly that way. But between CI and an old glass top stove its a process just to get to the right temp. Sometimes I just want to crank out a couple over easy eggs and be done with it.

Really no soap? Is it too abrasive?

We got these from Costco. Excellent quality non-stick pans. There is a second larger one to go with this.

I added one VERY similar to my camping kitchen (I think the same brand, just different color)...seems to work great for that application, but would also work great for what @Yard Sale is looking for. Something quick and easy if ya just want to whip up a couple of eggs here and there.

Two words.....Thrift Store. My high dollar nonstick pan would have been way over budget for me...at my thrift store it was a fraction of the price..in perfect condition. Anacortes thrift stores are truly a treasure.

I would never have been able to justify buying this high dollar non stick pan new, but I'm here to tell you, these high dollar pans are vastly different than "normal folk" pans. I use my antique cast iron pan often, but after decades of using "cheap" non stick pans, I can say the very high dollar ones are a joy to use.
