I share your pain...

Several reasons here. One is the game is more popular than ever... so (owners think) why spend the money. Two, it will often slow the game down. Three, what you are attributing to corruption is far more likely to be incompetence (trust me) Five... it's painful at times I agree.

I saw a Youtube video with no less than 9 bad calls in the Packers vs Niners game.

My suggestion would be drink more beer get some pom poms and jump up and down often, maybe a scream or two would help also 🤷‍♂️
Except the spring leagues have shown it absolutely works and doesn't slow the game down. If anything it can speed some calls up. Think of how many times the refs have to take several minutes to watch over and over to the have a meeting, take a commercial break (which, I know, is always welcome by the league) only to then announce their bad call.

Like I've said, I'm sure the problem is complicated, but it's a problem with a proven solution they choose not to employ.

I love blaming refs as much as the next person. But bills coming out of 2 minute warning had a terrible game plan and handed the game away.
Oh Bills, just like the Packers, definitely lost by their own hand. Both could've won, but just kinda fell apart instead.

Man, if you didn't have fun watching that game that's on you. I thought it was great.

Ravens look unstoppable, but can you ever count out Mahomes? That KC D is looking suspy though.

Lions Niners is going to be a dog fight. Sure hope Deebo is good to go. That Lions run game looks legit and the Niners have been missing a lot of tackles lately.

Oh, they pissed it away for sure. The refs didn't lose them that game. Anyone who says they did is just an obsessed Bills fan.

But that doesn't mean that letting a flag stand that had clear video evidence negating it was the right thing to do.

If the NFL wanted to get rid of all replay/review and just let the human element of the refs be a part of the sport as it was for decades, I'd be fine with that. Oh sure, I'd grump about it when the Seahawks got screwed. But it'd just be part of the game.

But because the NFL doesn't want to (or perhaps can't, with all the gambling company money they are taking) do that, then they need to use EVERY tool at their disposal to get the calls correct. Sky judge like the spring leagues, full time refs, better ref pipeline that allows bad refs to be replaced faster, and so on. As it is now, the NFL is just hanging the refs out to dry all the time. I mean, these dudes are getting death threats over calls that the league could be getting right if it wanted to.

That says a lot more about the fans than the NFL or the refs. Like the guy they showed crying at the end of the Bills game. If the Niners lost yesterday I would have been bummed, but not crying or mad at the refs.

Bitching about the refs just misses the point entirely. Go win the game.... The refs also made some really good calls on very close plays.

I also don't get the ahte for all the announcers. According to this lot there hasn't been one you don't have to mute since Madden. I'm making my own observations, but I like Romo's predicting plays, Collinsworth's enthusiasm, heck I can even handle Aikman's sly disses. Maybe you guys are just used to Seahawk homer announcers, where its always the refs fault?

I actually don't get the commentator hate. Most of them are "just fine" at worst.

totally agree with your points....buuuut, much like the kid from Detroit (who cried because his dad died before he could see where Detroit was headed this post season), the fact is that you really have no idea what that person may be going through in that moment....that's all.

I also can't think of a more boring way to watch a game than on mute. I used to watch a lot of games in bars in NYC and HATED it when my game wasnt on the speakers, it was always so odd to watch.

Like the ones we shoot because they eat to much salmon. Bummer, I liked you. But if you want to get sniped from the dam, so be it.
Whatever man it's better than being just like... A number.
