If you are old enough, you rooted for certain teams long before there was such a thing as “Hawks country”, whatever that is. 😂
I’ve never understood the need to root for a team solely based on where you were born or are currently living.

When I was a kid, the Colts were my team, but liked the Vikes, Rams, Niners and a few others.
Over time favorite teams change, new coaches, players and schemes.
My folks had season tickets for the Seahawks since day one, in Baltimore tickets were almost impossible to get. They tried to get us kids to take them when they decided to stop going, but there were steelhead and salmon to catch, so I passed.

Never regretted it, games are best at home for me.

I totally agree with you but…..this IS currently Hawks country. Do you really think there is a majority of fans for teams other than the Hawks here? Do you not think that fans of other football teams post here feeling they are minority? I think they feel they are the minority based on how and what they post.

I don’t think a Hawks fan can gloat on a forum that is mostly used by Hawks fans, because what is the point? Fans of other teams however can and they do. They probably enjoy it more knowing that the majority readers of their post aren’t going to like it, and that is why they do it.

I don’t really give a fuck either way, I just need to point out when the gloaters are suddenly MIA.

When I was born here, there were 2 million people in this state. Now there are what, 7.5 million?
Those additional 5.5 million people surely weren’t all born in Hawks country or got the (S)eahawks gene. 😂

What's strange is down here in the Portland area, I don't know a single Hawks fan. Not one. I have quite a network of friends/acquaintances through my gym, fishing, work etc. Lots of friends who are fans of just about every other team, but literally zero Hawks fans. It's bizarre.

SOS does have merit over a large sample size. We are 9 games in. You can see who has played tougher teams. Now, I do understand that it's a short season and that if you as a team are undefeated, your SOS should be lower because every team you played lost the game vs. you. It's part of the reason why the AFC east bottom dwellers were awful for 20 years. They had 2 losses per year to the best team in the division. So the Eagles SOS should be lower than reality because they won all of their games. They have also played a lot of awful QB's. My beloved Patsies, who are not a good team right now, could be 8-0 against that group of QB's.

I do think that SOS has merit going forward. That is, if the Seahawks end up with 11 or 12 wins they will have beaten some very good teams. It's really just amazing how the NFC East is the power division in that conference and the NFC West is not all that good. Defense is reigning supreme in the NFC, with the exception of the NFC West where the Seahawks are in the lead with the highest scoring offense in the conference. Can you believe that? The Seahawks have the highest scoring offense in the NFC and almost the league. Amazing.

They give up a lot of points, but most of those games came early. 6 of their final 8 games are against teams with NFL quarterbacks. It's all in front of the hometown team.

Seahawks have had the best defense in the NFL for the last I think 4wks. At least that was the case before yesterday. Haven't seen the updated info on that.

They are improving, no doubt. Their defense played poorly against some bad offenses early. The last 4 teams are not top tier offenses by any stretch though.

You will see what this team is from here on. They have to play NFL QB's and fairly good teams. They have put themselves in a good spot. The season starts right now for contenders. They do a lot of things well. QB doesn't turn it over, they run well, defense is playing better. They score a lot.
