NFL 2022 Season

Well that was quite a weekend of upsets. Makes me wonder how much it has to do with preseason playing time. Seems like lots of playoff teams rested their starters almost the entire preseason, while younger teams needed to get new guys reps. I wonder how much the 17 game schedule has to do with that? On one hand, game 1 counts for the same as game 17. On the other, getting a guy hurt preseason would certainly suck. I think a lot of teams go with the "just win early games somehow and its a win-win" theory. One truth about professional sports is that anybody can beat anybody, they are all professionals.

And just in case, I'm not talking about any particular team or games.
Cowherd said that the teams who rested most of their starters including their starting QB in the preseason went 3-8 opening week.

What about last year? Wasn’t that the zero pre-season or maybe it was 2020.
I don’t know but I haven’t heard complaints from the players about pre-season issues

Cowherd is a joke...
Gasbag blowhard.

When I moved up here Cowherd was still a local radio host. He had some good takes and I liked his show. Then he got an eye lift, started making hot takes that were total BS, and went national. Worthless as Steven A at this point.

Totally agree! I stopped listening when he started making ridiculous claims like a school in a cold weather climate would never win another NCAA championship in men’s hoops because kids just won’t go to those schools. Kansas lost to Syracuse in the championship the next year.

I almost forgot what this thread was about. Football, now I get it. Seattle plays SF next Sunday even when Seattle scored more points than SF and gave up less. they are still the underdog to SF. These writers seem to think that know than the average handicapper. I give Seattle a little bettor chance that that. Just maybe since they are playing in SF home field. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and go with just 3 points.

I think one thing Pete is really good at is facing a QB like Trey Lance. I think we get some interceptions. Hawks by 10 is my guess...

They will need to run the ball effectively, better than Monday.
Considering all the predictions of 5 wins for the season that were made here, and 20% of that achieved already, a win this week would put them at almost halfway to the predicted total.
;)

Defense looked pretty decent, offense had some rhythm at times...there is certainly hope.

The only way Hawks win is if their $18 million per year safety Jamal Adams plays…. 😂

I'll just drop this in here for entertainment. I am about to post the most useless post ever.
Played basketball against Colin Cowherd for a bunch of years jr high/hs when he was in Westport. He was a pretty good shooter.
Lets see how this worked out for us.
-----
Both played HS basketball in far west league in the early 80's - check

Both went to EWU - check

Cowherd today: on the radio talking pro football making about $20 million a year - check

Me today: sitting here typing on flyfishing internet forum w/NFL topic eating a non-frosted blueberry Poptart - check

(I appear to be about ready to run into a teammate..about right..)

The hater is back I see...
🤣

The 9rs stand a better chance with Jimmy G the sandwich guy, than 3 Lance .

One good thing for Geno, he was blitzed nine times and was 8-for-8 for 60 yards and a touchdown.

I just love our Oline really not being mentioned. We had two rookie tackles and a new center right?
and Damian Lewis is out. So a promising start. Especially since Cross was put up against Chubb.
