My grandfather had big cardboard bins full of bamboo flyrods, and as a teenager (more than 60 years ago) I fished quite a few of them because I couldn't afford exotic fiberglass.
Once I'd acquired fiberglass (and later graphite) flyrods I had no desire to fish bamboo...didn't like the feel, or its relative fragility....though I certainly wished my parents hadn't junked the whole load when I was overseas when my grandfather died, so I could sell them to cane aficionados....but for me bamboo still holds no attraction.
Is this the anti-positivity thread?
I bet this rod outlasts two pairs of spendy waders. If a guy, or gal, fishes this rod as much as I fish mine $$$ per day isn't much, and I love fishing my spendy NRX+.
