Monthly Tying Contest?

Is there any interest in reviving the monthly tying contests? If so throw out some ideas for themes in this thread. I kinda miss them because they got me out of my comfort zone. If there's enough interest we can do it in Nov.

When @James St. Clair called out my pat's in one of the contests it really pushed me as a tier and a fisher. I've settled on the knuckle dragging platform and am just tickled with the results. I'll participate in some for sure!

A couple of things I was thinking about. The fly should be tied for the contest, not one out of your box. For the first one maybe we vote for the winner. After that the last months winner can pick the theme and winner. Also as an incentive for winning everyone could mail their entries to the winner. So the winner takes home all the flies entered that month. Does that sound like something people would be interested in?

The more complicated things get, the less folks want to get involved on these sorts of things it seems.

As far as the system for rewarding the winner goes, maybe posting the winning fly on the forum for everyone to easily see during the winner’s month of glory? Kind of like employee of the month for flies. I’m not sure how that would work or if it would be possible.

Keeping it simple will draw more participants
