Mobile Bay/Fowl River, Alabama

Just a quick report from a few days ago. My dad and daughter took a charter trip out of mobile bay, fishing for redfish and speckled trout.

I was of course the one who stubbornly fly fished the whole time. I immediately caught a speckle trout on a chartreuse clouser and figure today was going to be a highly productive day.



It was not a productive day. There was bait EVERYWHERE but the fish were very tight lipped. They guide was getting really frustrated and the reports from the other boat out that day was were just as poor. The guide did manage to get my daughter on two fish, so most important goal accomplished.

All in all, super fun and fascinating fishery. It would be a blast to go out there on a more productive day

Yes, but I was mostly all over the seafood when we were there. Crawfish pie.............. oh man, that's some good stuff.
