Medical Info

Can’t emphasize enough the importance of getting treatment at a teaching hospital. They have the best doctors and more clinical trials. Stay hydrated, lots of rest. If getting chemotherapy also resist getting a port if at all possible. They can lead to infection and other complications.
Talk with people who’ve been or are going through chemo/radiation, especially those with similar diagnosis, such as Iggie.
Hopefully your radiation will be done by a SABRE or TrueBeam. Both state of the art technology. Not everyone is using them. A local cancer center is using Cyberknife which is at least 15 years old and primitive compared to the two mentioned.
Research and remember to be your own advocate.
Always here to talk if you need an ear. It helps.

A couple weeks ago I notice a lump in my right breast had Mammogram, Biopsy found Cancer in breast so Men check your breast too.
Lue, so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis! Cancer Sucks!

Stay positive, get as much sleep as you can, exercise, meditate, and go fishing as much add possible.

You are not alone! And you will be added to my prayer list, unfortunately the cancer section continues to grow.

Stay strong you got this!

Word of caution once you start chemo, do not go fishing, do not do chores, do not do yard work and a bunch of other task, your DR should go iver all this.
My dad had a infection in his brain from doing yard work and my mom had to call the EMTs for help, and he was hospitalized for 2 days and was ready to fight the DR and Nurses(long story). I think this really excellerated his dementia.

Chemo isn't always a given with breast cancer. My mastectomy had a good clean margin. The sentinel lymph node was taken during the mastectomy showed a small trace.
They are using radiation to kill any trace cells. the trick is to find the lump before it spreads into the lymph nodes.

Hello Everyone not writing from the dead means everything went smooth on my Breast operation yesterday the Dr did remove two Lymph Nodes to see if the cancer was starting to spread, so it took less than a hour for the operation sitting at home by 5pm yesterday recovering.
