How long did it take for the automobile to replace the horse and buggy? It will probably take about the same amount of time to change from internal combustion engines to completely electric.

About 10 years...give or take, longer in more isolated areas I'd guess.

 
I bought a Black and Decker Lawn Hog 20+ years ago. Corded electric. Still have it, still works, still a PITA to deal with the cord, but is now in excess inventory. Changed the blade once, the bag is a bit frayed, but it's been replaced by both a self propelled ryobi battery unit and a lawn care service, depending on my flare ups of A.S. .

Will never go back to gas. Even our service uses electrics (STIHL), and Henry does a lot of the local lawns here.
