Landing net for pontoon

Was wondering what would be a good size (length) net for landing trout from a pontoon? I have a 9ft rod and a 10ft trout Spey rod. I know my wading nets will be too small.

Longer, within reason is better IMO when fishing from a pontoon or boat. Reach is what you need.

As an FYI, those two fish are not the same. They were both caught and released in the same Oregon lake, but one year from each other.

Just be prepared to spend a bi of coin. A quality long handled net with a good size bag is not cheap. But well worth in IMO.

I’ve got two of these in various lengths and they are great for my needs. I can’t really justify the price for the other popular brands.

I like the fishpond mid length too but they are pricy at $170. I’ve got this net as well which does just as good a job for $50 if you are looking a cheaper alternative. Very similar lengths. 35 inches versus 37 for the fishpond.

Can you explain how to add length to an existing net? Ive got a net that has the perfect basket size but the handle is too short. Ive been trying to think of a way to do so, but cant visualize a good solution.

Does your net have a wood handle? I lengthened mine by adding a length of hardwood using a dovetail style joint and some wood dowels. I can post a picture later.

Price-wise, you may want to look at the Measure Net (https://themeasurenet.com/). I am using the medium size for my float tube and I replaced the net bag that came with it with a rubber net bag. The large or guide jr. may fit your needs.

That sounds complicated. I’d just use a board stretcher.
