Check this thing out, off my home river known for native red bands in the 12-16" range. This unicorn fell victim to a big brass Kastmaster in some heavy chop. I think it was planning on a native bronze colored squawfish for dinner & got a mouthful of steel instead.

Kinda a shame, because if some fly guy hooked it on a streamer, the guide would have got the tip of a lifetime & a fish a release and a G&G pic or two.

That’s a trout…from a river?…does not compute…
 
Well, yes. But a tailwater river with a steady stream of turbine chummed Kokanee
 
The local bank maggots plunk below the dam at night with big baits. They always haul out some overweight bows. This fish actually looks more athletic was caught roughly 4 miles below the tailrace
 
Native squawfish, now you can see why bronze/brass/gold would work on the big meat eaters
