Knocked A Whitetail Buck Down Today.

Breck

The Whisk(e)y Dick
More Spoone & Crockpot than Boone & Crockett, but I’ll take it. It was -1 degrees here in NW Montana when I stepped out of my truck. 226 yd shot and I dropped him like a sack of wet monkey shit. He didn’t take a single step. Dead before he hit the deck. Used my lady’s grandpa’s old Mauser .270, with my 145 gr Hornady ELD-X hand load. Let me tell ya, frozen deer blood on your bare hands in sub-zero temperatures is brutal.

Looks young enough to be quality meat for the table.

Bravo!

Nice work; between the tom turkey and the whitetail buck, you’ve had a good week!

Thank you. I'm fortunate to have access to private acreage. Harvested both on the property.

Yes! And no adrenalin in the meat. Instant death.

Hung him in the garage yesterday overnight. Butchering him today.
