Great thread! Love the updates.

Someday I hope to take a similar trip. Ashamed to admit I've never been to Alaska at all, much less to fish.

Missed you here today :). Staying at Kulik but was over on Moraine today. Hope you did well. It’s been tough some days for rainbows. Really good others, especially on fry. Plus all the lakers you care to catch in some spots.

You’re on the other end of the lake from where I’m staying at Royal Wolf…

How was the Moraine…heard it was windy. A group went there yesterday, mostly grayling, but picked up a 28” bow…

My biggest rainbow was on the Moraine 5 years ago , a pig at 27”…and a belly…

Moraine was good. All bows for me. No grayling. My biggest was at 24-25 inches. Also caught some mediums and a bunch of smalls. I think it could have been better if not for some poor etiquette displayed by one of the lodges fishing it that day. While us and others got out of our rafts and fished runs, they rowed out in front of the pack and back trolled their clients through every run to the takeout…boo to them :).

My biggest fish came from the lower American this week though. I’ll post a short report when I get back. Good week overall. Some really solid rainbows, some char and ton of lakers.

Lower American was smoking…a couple in our group got a 28 & a 29…my best bow of the week was a 26…all on dry flies
