Just over a month out...

Will we have open water for March 1st?

Even though there is ice now on a number of western Washington lakes, there will be none in a month.

Eastern Washington---> LOL!
 
Take it for what's it worth, but forecasters are calling for the return of Winter for the months of Feb, March, April. We will see, next week does look cold and wet...
 
About 20'' here on the Frozen Tundra and below zero for 2 more nights then single digit nights with nothing above freezing until around the 17th. Low recorded so far is -4 but expected to be even colder tonight. The good news is it has been clear enough to see the planets at night but too damned cold to stay out for long.
 
Three degrees when I arrived at the White Pass parking lot at 9 AM for a leisurely start. Several ponds along the interstate through the Yakima Valley had open water but many were frozen solid. Must be significant springs in some of them.
