Got out for some fishing. Took two rods, but the action was much better on the leech/indicator combo, which made me happy.


Were we pink fishing?, we pankoed this well spotted holdover, feisty fish, it went back in.

I've driven by that pond many times. My wife is from WW and I need to take her nieces fishing. Is it common to catch holdovers there? Seems like it would get fished out or too hot during summer. It's a pretty cool resource for getting kids into fishing

It is a great resource to have. I started my son there as well. One of our church/tying group members is over 70 and doesn't get around so well, and he enjoys being able to go there also.
It doesn't always have water all winter, but it did this year. First fish I'm sure is a holdover I've seen. It's fed from a mill creek diversion so it may not get too brutal.
That black/fl orange leech in size 14 3' below the float has been better than worms or power bait no matter how fished, and it's pretty easy to send them back so you don't have a mess of swallowed hook fish to clean.
