I thought this had to be an exaggeration. It's not. The "Yes on IP 28" website, which supports the ballot measure, had a FAQ page that explains how it would ban hunting, fishing, livestock, and mousetraps:

I agree that I would likely benefit by eating a little lower on the food chain than I do, but this notion is crazy. Let's say we all convert to veganism. Then science advances and determines that many fruits and vegetables are actually sentient beings. What then? We all dedicate ourselves to mass starvation out of kindness to plants? At some point there is a reckoning with biology: life's a bitch, and then you die. To live, you're gonna' kill things, and eventually, something's gonna' kill you. Nature is beautiful, but it doesn't give a sh!t about kindness.

Always follow the money. IMO this doesn't have a chance because of the financial impact it would have on Oregon business. It's just a feel good exercise for the PETA folks so they can preach their message.

I think we're entering TRAVERS TERITORY. The MAIN AMENDMENT covers this sort of nonsense.
I'm old, got two fast cars, but this is the way to go, knowing the historic running routes around these parts.
