Steelhead
This sounds like a dating profile
. I just want to meet more like minded folks and I'm not one to approach people on the water often. So, here we go...
I'm in my mid 30s and really into steelhead right now. I mostly fish alone but only because I don't know others who are into this.
I'm in the Portland Metro area, willing to travel a few hours as needed. I fish OR North Coast rivers in winter as well as the Sandy and Clackamas. Summer been can be the Deschutes, Clack, rivers in the Willamette valley. I don't have a WA license but not opposed, just haven't explored up there much. I'm interested in the Klickitat one of these days.
I'm interested in swinging flies, not much interest in nymphing.
I have a single man raft and while still novice and a bit unsure, I'm up to take it down most rivers that aren't technical. Could probably draw more interest with a bigger boat, but it's what I've got in my current circumstances. If you have a boat, I'm down to pitch in on fees, use my vehicle for a shuttle, split a shuttle, whatever.
I'm pretty go go, I want to enjoy a decently long day and I like to fish pretty hard. In summer, I'm on the river at sun rise. In winter, can be a bit later but typically still early. I usually only have weekends to fish, I have a standard work week.
It would be great to either learn from someone, or learn with someone who's at a similar level. I'm not trying to steal your spots or runs. I have some of my own and I'm happy to share if we end up on one of those rivers.
If you're interested, let me know!
