....flies.

Almost all of these are tied by me (minus the crease/poppers & some of the shrimpy stuff). box one of two.

Although, there are several @SilverFly squid flies buried somewhere in there too....I spy several that came from a swap a while back as well.

The other box has mostly store bought flies in it (minus a couple of very large mullet patterns I whipped up last night)

You know what they say, take out half of what you’ve packed and leave it.

I don’t think so!

I think y'all are going on a fishing-focused trip, right? I mean, it makes sense to load up on gear for that, in my book. My issue is I'm going on a family trip and trying to wedge in some fishing. I know what fishing I'd like to do, but there are a lot of possibilities, and conditions may dictate one thing or another. I could probably bring and use 6, 8, 10, and 12 weights during the trip. But I don't have room for all that stuff! Wish I did...

Whenever I take a lot of flies, I tend to use the same few and most go untouched.
It’s always fun though to tie in anticipation of a trip. Have a great trip Randy!

We’re off to Baja again, and have been tying for every eventuality. Plus we don’t know how to stop once we get started 😁

You guys are going to need an Importers License, along with some Benjamin’s to grease some palms, if they decide to give you the red light and check incoming baggage. Two weeks ago on the east side there were reports of Grande’s but things settled down into some 20-30# but the big Mahi’s saved the day(s). Have a great time, careful how you hydrate, and we’ll want a report with pictures upon your arrival back home. Buena suerte!

I suggest that they each tie (delegate from a list) half of what they think they’d need for the various scenarios. 😉
That would be just about the dumbest smart idea I've ever heard. 😂. Although, Phil and I have different tying styles, so I'm pretty sure we've got everything covered.

Going on family trips can always be eye opening. I try to remember that even though I have a punch list of things to do, I will probably only have time and opportunity to accomplish about one fifth of what I have planned. Best of luck . I feel your pain.

I just want one day. One. Little. (Hopefully amazing and mind-blowing) Day.
