SFR I just found this "northwest fly fisherman" website

Sorta fishing-related
I'm going to make one request, though: If you choose to "Contact" them through their form... Don't use your real email address. Use a relay at the very least. Could be a site to just collect emails.

Hah That site is a trip. Under guided trips it mentions the upcoming 2010 season on the Cowlitz. Also talks about being a fly only guide. Yet in the tips page it talks about using a fly or worm.

It's like a site half built by an old fishing guide who doesn't know how to use the internet, and a bot.

I'm so confused.....

Was it just generated by a bot? I need answers!

It has been around since August 2002

Looks like some hobby fisherman is playing around with little to minimal recent activity...

A lot of people make use of worms as bait, yet lobsters are likewise an excellent choice. Big fish like perch delight in these bugs.
Maybe they mean Big fish like Nile perch, because lobsters are . . . their . . . . . natural . . . . . . prey . . . ?

Well, I at least tried to make sense of it. Gotta wonder if the bot feed contest spawned this abomination.

Looks like its a website for guide Steve Buckner. I found links to it on the old forum.

Guessing its just a botched conversion from his old website to a Wordpress theme. He does have some actual articles related to the Cowlitz and fly casting instruction, etc.

Running it through the Wayback Machine the site changed sometime between Feb 19th and Aug 8th of 2020. The weird Copyright at the bottom "Guide for Fishing © 2022" makes me thing that he decided to update his website using a generic fishing Wordpress theme that has a bunch of random stuff pre entered that he never got around changing. Looking at the source code, it comes back to this theme: https://themeforest.net/item/fishing-and-hunting-wordpress-theme/19356746

Someone taking the AI contest too far
It‘s kind of funnier than the ChatGPT bot.
“…the most important river and lake fishing tips:

First, don’t forget to bring all the equipment. If you want to fish on a lake or on a river, you’ll need the proper clothes, depending on the weather. Also, a fly is essential as a bait. If you want to go in the middle of the lake or river, you should get a canoe, but if you are a beginner, your best option is to rent one. Regarding the clothes, we’d suggest wearing something water-proof yet comfortable, as you might stay there for a couple of hours, you’d be best without itchy pants or uncomfortable boots.”

That’s some solid advice. I can’t forget the first time I wanted to go to the middle of the lake but didn’t have a canoe so I just swam out there. I ended up dropping my fish pole and tackle box, which makes it all the more embarrassing that I did it a second time. I very much agree—get a canoe if you want to go in the middle of the lake or river.
