My wife from the living room : "Your LITTLE package COST how much?!"

My brain at the fly tying table : "Should I be offended?" , "Ouch those are hurtful words!"

I walk out to complain and see she had gotten the mail...

When your wife gets the mail is an unwritten part of their Rewards Program.

Yes! There’s a chapter on him in Trey Combs book that talks about it. I think he used it in the Eel or one of the other Nor Cal rivers if someone was trying to play a foul hooked fish instead of breaking it off.

Brother had a robins egg blue 57 2 door, stock and excellent condition. Of course it was only 12 years old at the time. He always had neater cars than me (58 Volkswagen, then a Gremlin :-(

I had a 56 Chevy. A two door with a post. I remember putting gas in from behind the license plate. Boy, that was a long time ago.
I had a '56 Bel Aire in high school....Wish I'd been nicer to it.

Reminds me of an actual story from my youth.....(usually a reason for my kids to run for cover )

Kicking Tires
As a 17 year old looking for my first car, I dropped in to a local car lot and noticed a '57 Chev. A salesman spotted me and started across the lot. I'd heard somewhere that tire-kicking was what savvy buyers did (although I wasn't exactly sure why) I remember kicking a tire and looking thoughtful, (like someone tuning a piano) to let him know I wasn't just some rube off the street, and therefore, not someone to be trifled with. He didn't put much effort into making the sale, either because he felt overmatched.... or, more likely, because he rightly assessed that I didn't have any money anyway.
Good times !!
