Detroit is in a sad situation but from viewing it from across the border brings me relief and a smile. Crime is rampant not only in Detroit but spreading all over the US..

I live in Canada right across the border from Detroit and I love spending time in Detroit but it's a big relief once I reach home. About a month ago I was over in Detroit heading back to Canada at about 3:30 pm. I was still in Detroit stopped at a red light waiting for the light to turn green before crossing over into the border tunnel plaza. Light turned green with no sign of any cross traffic. I slowly entered the intersection when this young kid in daddy's car came screaming thru the red light and hit me. Reported the accident to the police but was still able to drive home. My insurance got an appraisal for $25k on my damage so they decided to just right the damage off as a total loss. I should've sued this kid for all the aggravation and trouble he created for me to get everything sorted out but I bet he didn't have a dime to his name..

Years before I was at a bar in Detroit with my car parked outside on the street. At about 1am this drunk came swerving down the street and plowed into my car, another total loss..
