How many fly reels do I need?

I’ve sold several rods, and reels over the last several years. I accumulated a pile of gear before kids….now I have teenagers. Money seems to not go as far these days. I still have more gear then one guy needs! Let’s be honest though…..nothing quite as cool as a sweet fly rod, and a beautifully machined fly reel.

If anyone has Ross CLA2 or spools lying around I’m happy to help you out In thinning the herd.

My mental inventory of reels is at 20 odd but that means 30 odd if I looked everything over…

Ah, Dave! Like some members on this thread, I have a number of, shall I say, limited use fly reels. Those might be the reel I pair up with my too seldom used Phillipson Pacemaker or the little Okuma with a 2 a WF2F on it that I use for Blue Line cricks....then there's this beauty that collects dust:

I wouldn't mind finding another Lamson Guru (original Guru) in size 2, anyone have a couple they're not using? ;-)

Then, of course, if you can convince your wife to fly fish, the formula would be:

R+N = 2(R+N)
(Pretty sure this is quantum physics?)
You're saying if I convince here to start fishing, I get to double my rod and reel count.
Hmmmmm.....
I've always been Ok with fishing being a "me thing". But based on this new scientifically proven mathematical formula, I may need to reconsider. I mean, it would mean I get at least one more 6 weight. I think we all agree that we could always use another 6wt.
