A legend has passed.
RIP Roger Stephens

This is Roger's wife, Diane. I have no idea how to post anything on this site, but I wanted people to know that Roger passed away yesterday morning due to complications from recent hip surgery. He was a long time member of this site and enjoyed interacting with everyone. He was one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet and will be missed beyond belief. I'm in total shock, as he was doing really well. It appears it was caused by aneurysm.

Sad news indeed. I only met him once, but he was very kind and generous with his knowledge of sea-run tactics. Tight lines wherever you are, Roger.

fuck.

that really sucks.

Very sad news indeed.
He was very helpful to many on this forum, including myself.
I still have the flies he sent me with detailed, handwritten tying instructions.
RIP Roger

I really enjoyed reading Roger’s informative posts. Best wishes to his family.

That is very sad news. Roger was always so generous with his insights. He was a keen observer and a great analytical thinker. He will be missed.

What a loss. May he rest in peace.

Diane, this is so sad when something that is so 'routine' ends up like this.
Roger was a very special man and will be missed by all.

Roger's knowledge and passion for the resource was legendary here on this site. That and his more than willingness to share that passion sat the standard for those of us that shared that interest. I suspect this is just a small example of what made him a very special man!

His passing leaves a large hole in this community and my thoughts are with his family and friends in this difficult time.

Couldn’t say it any better. Loved his insights and posts. A legend tho’ I bet he would hate to have been called that.
