Twitter Blows Up With Racist Reactions After P.K. Subban Scores Game Winner In 2nd OT
Boston Bruins fans blew up Twitter Thursday night following the team's 4-3 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens.www.cbsnews.com
Now, sure. That's not the Bruins themselves sending those tweets. But they are happy to take those fans money.
The dirty play, the players (remember Mitchell Miller?), the racist fans, and so on, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You won't see me cheering for the Bruins.
To be very clear, more power to anyone who wants to cheer for any team. I have no issue with that at all. I don't define myself by who I cheer for and I don't define others by who they cheer for. You'll see me cheering for them!!
Chear your team. Nothing better in the sports world than having a team in the Stanly cup playoffs. It is the best.Kraken first playoff game ever!
You see this?
I think this is true of sports in general. Guys like Marchand, Richard Sherman, Draymond Green, etc are all guys you love on your own team and despise on someone else's. Some of those dudes are terrible humans in real life (Sherman seems to have issues), but many are probably just regular guys when they aren't playing.Hockey can bring out he best and worst in people.
I should have been less bombastic in my shit talking. I absolutely did not mean to imply that all bruins/boston fans are racist. Racists like the people who make the news over sports are are, thankfully, just a loud minority. So my apologies to anyone who felt like I was being a dick there.I don't know as it's fair to judge an entire fan base or franchise for what a group of fans say on Twitter in 2013.
I'm sure this is true. Racists are sadly, everywhere. From what I can tell, european soccer has a FAR worse issue with sports fan racism than we do in the USA. To the point that some teams end up playing games in empty stadiums as a penalty. Serie A in Italy is just infested with it and it's made the news multiple times just this year. There are also racist Kraken fans and Avalanche fans etc. I don't know any personally, but I don't really know many Kraken or Ave fans.
Playoff hockey is outstanding. I'd argue that it's the sport with the biggest intensity change between the regular season and postseason (right up there with college basketball, though much of that is the March Madness format).Chear your team. Nothing better in the sports world than having a team in the Stanly cup playoffs. It is the best.
Same for me too! Saw lots of games in the old Garden. Kraken are looking good also!Let's go Bruins!!!!!!
Sorry. Had to do it. First and foremost I'm a huge Bruins fan. Kraken are my second hockey love.
